Contracts for the supply, installation, and commissioning of 17,458 solar water pumping systems have been issued by the Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) as part of Component B of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM KUSUM) program. Prominent firms, such as AVI Appliances, Oswal Pumps, Ethos Power, Rotomag Motors, Ecozen Solutions, and Alpex Solar, each obtained contracts for more than 1,000 pumps: AVI Appliances received 2,811, Oswal Pumps 2,539, and Shakti Pumps 3,174.
Contracts for a total of 3,243 solar pumps were also awarded to 19 other businesses. With a focus on small and marginal farmers, water user organizations, cow shelters, and community-based irrigation systems, Component B of the PM KUSUM initiative seeks to build two million independent solar water pumps for field irrigation.
In March 2024, HAREDA awarded contracts for 24,484 solar pumps under Component B of PM KUSUM, with major allocations to Oswal Pumps, Shakti Pumps, AVI Appliances, Himalayan Solar, Rotomag Motors, and Alpex Solar.

The winners of NTPC’s auction to provide 1,200 MW of firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) with peak power through projects connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS) were Hexa Climate Solutions, ACME Solar Holdings, and Avaada Energy. June 2024 saw the issuance of the tender.
ACME Solar received 400 MW at Rs 4.70 per kWh, while Hexa Climate won 300 MW at Rs 4.69 per kWh. Furthermore, Avaada Energy used the bucket-filling approach to win 60 MW of the 250 MW it bid at Rs 4.70 per kWh.
The build-own-operate model will be used to develop these projects. With increments permitted in multiples of 10 MW and a maximum allotment of 600 MW per bidder, NTPC established a minimum project size of 50 MW. Systems for storing energy are
Every project must have energy storage devices, and during peak hours, there must be at least 90% power availability. A minimum declared capacity utilisation factor (CUF) of 40% must also be met by any project.
The Ministry of Power set up rules for competitive bidding to purchase firm and dispatchable renewable energy from grid-connected projects with storage in order to encourage FDRE. In order to solve the issues of renewable intermittency and enhance transmission system utilisation, this strategy seeks to supply distribution companies with dependable renewable electricity.
The winners of SJVN’s 1,200 MW FDRE auction in October 2024 were Hero Solar Energy, Ganeko Solar (Zelestra), Juniper Green Energy, ReNew, and Avaada.

With plans to build 10,000 MW of renewable energy projects in Andhra Pradesh, Serentica Renewables will combine solar, wind, and storage technologies to provide green power continuously. This project supports Andhra Pradesh’s objective of having 72,000 MW of renewable energy by 2030.
Solar, wind, and storage systems will all be integrated into the company’s 10,000 MW project. With 5,000 MWh of storage capacity planned, Serentica is reportedly aiming to increase its renewable energy portfolio to 17,000 MW by 2030. It is projected that 4,000 MW of this will be online by 2025.
In addition, Serentica has secured 1,500 MWh from future projects in Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh as well as an extra 3,500 MWh of battery storage through a storage offtake agreement with Greenko Group.
By 2030, its renewable energy portfolio will reach 17,000 MW, with 5,000 MWh available for storage. It is projected that 4,000 MW of this will be online by 2025.

With a total expenditure of Rs 55 million, Tata Power has signed a strategic partnership with Noida International Airport (NIA) to provide a mix of solar and wind energy. Through this agreement, clean, renewable energy sources will be used to meet the airport’s energy needs. Additionally, smart energy infrastructure and necessary dry utilities will be developed.
Through the use of secured assets from Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), Tata Power Trading Company Limited (TPTCL) would provide NIA with 10.8 MW of wind power under the terms of this agreement. To further satisfy the airport’s energy needs, TPREL will also be in charge of creating, running, and maintaining a 13 MW on-site solar power facility.
Additionally, Tata Power will build vital dry utility infrastructure, such as electrical systems, and handle maintenance and operation.for twenty-five years. According to reports, TPTCL will take the lead in this partnership, overseeing the interface for the whole renewable energy portfolio and making sure NIA’s energy needs are met by a thorough Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
